Mackenzie began her career as a child model at age 4, appearing in ads for big brands such as Polo Ralph Lauren, Gap and The Walt Disney Company. Her first acting role came in 2009 in the TV series 'Til Death. One-off appearances followed in various TV shows. At age 11, she landed her breakthrough role as Renesmee, the daughter of Bella and Edward in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2.
“ Mackenzie had her breakthrough role as "Renesmee Cullen" in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2. That was her 1st movie and she's already filmed three other movies since (all of which roles she got before Breaking Dawn Part 2 came out. She also filmed all three before BDPT2 came out). Two indies: Plastic Jesus & Wish You Well (a film adaptation of David Baldacci's best selling novel) and the other, a horror/thriller called The Conjuring (alias "The Warren Files") out July 2013! She plays a complex character called "Lou Cardinal" in Wish You Well. Its an indie drama, and Lou was a new kind of character for Mackenzie to take on, so I can't wait to see her in that type of role! It was also the first film that she carried mostly on her back, as the story revolves mostly around Lou. In The Conjuring, she has a supporting role as one of The Perron family's daughters, playing a sister to Joey King. And in Plastic Jesus, she shares the lead with Chandler Canterbury, playing his sister. So Mackenzie has already worked with some other child actors. She has also worked with some amazing adult actors as well!
Along with her episode of R.L. Stine's The Haunting Hour, the finale of season 2 (also the continued episode of Bailee Madison's two-parter, "Really You"), "The Return of Lilly D", she also made another appearance in season 3, "Red Eye", nailing playing character called Georgia Lomin. She carried the whole thing on her back and killed it. The emotion she carries out in her roles is unreal, her performance was flawless.
On another note, Mackenzie is also a model and has been since she was 3 years old! I knew her a model first and have been proud as I watch her grow into a very talented little actress. She started acting in very small roles at 7 and has been in numerous commercials. She was modeling before she got into acting, but still models as well.
